Ellen's Birthday Party

Ellen's birthday was pretty low key. We let her open a present in the morning so she could play with it throughout the day. She started to get the present opening thing throughout the day, but mostly loved it for the paper. Later that morning, I went with Summer and Ellen to Cherubs, a little music class we do with some other moms. The afternoon was spent at home prepping for her party and sleeping (I had a major headache...part of this cold that I can't seem to kick, but gratefully it was mostly under control by the time the party started).

In the evening we had a party with some family. Since it was midweek, we only had a few who could come-Isaac & Dylan, Grandma Osborne, and Melissa, Tyler, Katie, & Lyla. We had a nice little dinner, opened presents, sang Happy Birthday to Ellen & Katie (her birthday was the next day), and then had cake. Ellen had her very own smash cake and didn't do much smashing. She was very dainty (even more so than Summer was), which I was not expecting. She would stick her fingers in the frosting, lick her hands, show us all, and go for more. She enjoyed it, but wasn't super into it. When she was finished and crawling away, she did sit on the cake, but not one of the many people documenting her caught it on film. Regardless, it was fun to watch her. Thanks for coming, everyone!
