Summer

Here are a few things to remember about Summer:

1. We walked into a grocery store that we normally don't go to and she immediately said "Let's go find some chocolate." She must be my child.

2. Summer has begun pretending a lot lately. A few days ago she spent all day playing with her doll. She wrapped the baby up, put it in the baby swing, gave it a binky, she rocked it, fed it food, helped it call Grandma and Grandpa on their mission, gave it a bath (we learned some toys aren't meant to go in the water), put it to bed, and took it outside to play. She did all of this several times-it was very cute.

3. She has a need to have her feet covered by her blanket when going to sleep, pretending to sleep, reading stories, or rocking with me in the rocking chair. She won't settle down until her feet are completely covered by her special blanket. She's been doing this for along time (maybe even the entire last year?). I'm a little worried for whats going to happen when she is too big for the blanket (which is going to happen sooner than later). I guess we'll just cover her feet and legs.

4. Summer does a great job of making Ellen laugh. That is, when she is not poking, pinching, hitting, or kicking Ellen. We obviously have a few things that we are working on at our house. However, Ellen does seem to adore Summer and it is cute to watch them interact.

5. Summer is a little chatter box. She often has several things to say and will repeat them until they are repeated back to her."A few things she has said lately:
a. "I can do it myself" when referring to clipping her fingernails
b. "Be nice, sunshine" when the sun was shining in her eyes
c. "No change diaper Ellen" or "no feed Ellen"
d. "Crack-crack" is the word she uses for crackers
e. "It's okay, it's okay" whenever she is nervous about something
f. "A hold you Mom" is one of my favorites. When she wants me to hold her, this is what she says.
g. "Smii-ell" said looking in the opposite direction of the camera with a grimace on her face
h. "Take my picture, Mom" as shown in the picture below holding two of her four tooth brushes.

This is also apparently how we shop when we go to the grocery store. Very effective.
