5 Months
Ellen has reached her 5 month mark. Here are a few developments:
1. She is getting very strong. If she wants to be picked up, she'll often lift her shoulders, head, and legs all off the ground at the same time.
2. She is beginning to reach for toys. If you put one in front of her, she'll reach up and grab it with both hands. She can also pull down her vibrating toys that hook to her car seat.
3. She still likes to be swaddled when going to sleep, but will break her arms free pretty regularly. We're going to have to help her break her swaddling habit.
4. Ellen is now ticklish. I love it! We can get her to laugh and giggle by tickling her tummy.
5. Her dimples are more pronounced and easier to see.
6. She is content to stay on her tummy for longer periods of time. She still will get upset at being on it, but is happy for a lot longer period of time.
7. Most nights she is up once to eat and then goes back to sleep pretty quickly. We still have nights where she's up twice, but those aren't too often.
8. She has now taken her first major road trip-a trip to Colorado to see her Grandma and Grandpa. She did great in the car!
9. She now prefers to be held so she is sitting up and can see what is going on. I miss my cuddly baby!
10. She doesn't particularly like her binky unless she is really tired. She'll often spit it out and stick her fingers strait into her mouth.
