4 Months Old

Ellen reached the four month mark almost 2 weeks ago. Can we say late on this post? Oh well, all the pictures are from the correct month and the stats didn't get taken until this last Monday. Anyway, here is a little bit about Ellen these days.

1. She is rolling over like crazy, but only from her back to her stomach. Once she ends up on her tummy, she gets mad, and starts to cry. She is getting a little more patient with being on her stomach, but a grand total of 1 minute on her stomach doesn't count for much.

2. She smiles and laughs all the time now. At three months she would laugh on occasion, but we can now get her to laugh a lot. I love it when babies laugh!

3. She also jabbers to me quite a bit. She is losing her ability to focus solely on eating, so she'll stop midway through a meal, smile up at me, and begin to coo. Sometimes is drives me a little crazy, but it sure is endearing.

4. Ellen gets up usually only once a night (typically between 3 and 4) to eat and then goes back to sleep. She also is going to bed at a consistent time each night-between 6:30 and 7:00. She'll go a long time without eating, which is nice for me. It gives me a little bit of a window in which I can leave her. I usually feed her right before she goes to bed and then will wake her up to feed her before I go to bed (around 10:30).

Here are her stats at 4 months, 12 days (taken March 3rd).

Head: 15.25 inches, 4.6th percentile
Weight: 11 lbs 3 oz, 1.8th percentile
Length: 23.5 inches, unknown percentile (the nurse measured her wrong, so I don't have an accurate percentile, but this is a more accurate length)

And for fun, here are a few pictures from the last month.

My brother David and his family, who live in Omaha, ended up in Utah for a quick trip. We were glad we got a chance to see them and that they got to meet Ellen. Their boy's sure are cute and were excited to hold Ellen.

 Her first Valentine's Day!

Notice the live action spitting-up. This is the story of our life right now. Lots and lots of spit-up.

I tried to get Summer to pose with her. Notice the fake smile in a direction no where near the camera. Oh well. I thought Ellen looked cute in this one. She likes her bumbo chair, although she looks so tiny when she sits in it.
