Summer Lately

Here are a few things that Summer has done/been doing lately that I want to remember:

1. Walking! She decided two weeks ago (right at 15 months) that walking would be a great idea. She is getting pretty good at it now, but still teeters around a bit. When she was first learning to walk, she would take a few steps, dive into your arms, and give a self applauding shrieking laugh.

2. In the last month and a half, Summer has realized that she can voice her opinion. She is much more vocal about when she wants something or doesn't want something. She growls if something doesn't work like she wants it to and she gets much more excited about fun things. She has begun to throw fits if I won't let her do something that she wants to do

3. Summer is still a chatter box. She is almost always talking or singing. She has a few words that she says over and over (Mom, okay, no), but I don't think she has yet associated them with their meanings. She will repeat things that you say to her some (like bye-bye) and I think she understands quite a bit of what I tell her.

4. Music-Summer loves music. She will often start dancing if there is some music playing with a good beat.

5. Friendly-Summer is friendly and likes most adults. We were at a wedding reception a week ago and while waiting in line she went up to another woman and let the woman hold her. I guess she recognizes a grandma when she sees one. She still will glare at people quite often (so maybe friendly isn't the right word), but she is always willing to let other people hold her. A couple of weeks ago she spent all of Sunday school with a man in our ward who was showing her his cell phone.

6. Summer loves cell phones. She spent a large part of Thanksgiving looking for my dad's cell phone that he keeps hooked to his belt. I have to constantly remove my cell phone from her little fingers and I'm currently in the market for a better, stronger case.

We helped at a fundraiser garage sale in October. Summer sat in the pile of clothes we were sorting.
We picked a whole bunch of apples from our neighbors tree and Summer got to ride in a wagon! Contrary to her expression, she enjoyed it.

 With her cousin Eily.
It looks like Summer enjoys swinging, but that's not really true. She doesn't really like it at all.
 Post bath.
 Headstands.

Sick day. Summer had her first ear infection during the first part of November. She was pretty miserable and didn't sleep much. Thank goodness for Baby Einstein!
She's starting to get a lot of hair!

  1. I love that headstand picture! And the shampoo picture is fun too. I have a few of those from when I was little. Yay for more hair! What a cutie. Looks like you had a wonderfully chaotic Thanksgiving, too.
