11 Months

Summer is now 11 months. She is a happy and observant child and becomes more fun each day. The developments of the last month:

1. She is doing much better with eating. She doesn't gag half the time when she eats and I can give her just about anything. Cheerios are a favorite!
2. She is an expert at waving.
3. She can go down the stairs as long as someone helps her turn around at the top of the stairs.
4. She has begun to do a little head-bob whenever she is excited or happy. She gets a little grin on her face and then bobs her head from side to side.
5. She is up to 6 teeth-4 on top, 2 on bottom.
6. She has had some stranger fear, which she has never really shown before. When we have been with a lot of people for long periods of time (specifically large family gatherings), she has become quite attached to me. I think the chaos that occurs with lots of people and a lot of activity make her nervous, so she won't let me leave her. However, when it's a smaller group, she still seems to have no problem letting someone else hold her (unless she is hungry or tired, and once again, I'm the favorite).
7. She has discovered the joy of pulling things out of containers, especially trashcans. After she brought me some of her used diapers a couple of times, I decided it was time to put all trashcans at a higher level in the house.
8. She is getting even more active and wiggly. It took me about 10 minutes and 30 pictures to get one decent one of her with the teddy bear (I actually had to have Anders come help me). It is also hard to take her picture because she heads strait for the camera as soon as we pull it out. She is a super fast crawler and can get anywhere she wants in no time. She's not showing a lot of interest in walking, probably because she is so quick on her hands and feet (still no knee crawling), and it will probably be at least a few more months until she does walk.
9. She is starting to explore things. She'll dig in bags, find any new object that appears in the house, and has started moving further from me to explore when we're not at home.
10. She has now learned to get upset when I don't allow her to play with or do something. She has always protested a little when things got taken away, but in the last month her protests have really increased and she gets quite mad at me.
11. She does little headstands. When she is playing, she gets up on her feet and puts her head down on the ground to look through her legs. It's pretty cute.
12. She likes to help me with chores by pulling things out of the dishwasher and the washing machine as I am putting things in them. She also quite likes watching the clothes in the dryer and washing machine as they spin.
