Colorado

We drove to Colorado for Christmas this year and stayed for about 10 days. Summer was sick right before our trip out and Anders came down with the same cold on the way there. He spent a few days holed up in the basement (including Christmas Eve), but by Christmas Day he was doing pretty good. We were the only family that was there for Christmas, but my mom made sure to invite a whole crowd over for Christmas Eve. Summer was the only child, so she was truly loved. Christmas Day was full of fun as we opened gifts, skyped with Sarah (who is serving a mission), and enjoyed a nice dinner with a few guests. Our skyping session was really quite funny-we tried to get the entire family in on a large group skype. It didn't work so well-but it was funny to see everyone trying. Eventually everyone had to hang up, but since we were at Mom and Dads, I got to enjoy the whole conversation.

Two days after Christmas, my brothers Mike and David arrived with their families. We spent the next several days partying-movies in Mike's awesome theater room, shopping sales, playing games, and eating lots of yummy food. We also took a trip to the zoo at night to see all their lights, which was pretty impressive. It was also fun to see some of the animals out in the cold-the cougars, otters, elephants, and tiger were some of the most fun.

Sunday before Christmas

Christmas Morning: Summer really enjoyed the whole experience. I thought she wouldn't really care, but she enjoyed watching everyone open packages and playing with her new toys. She certainly was spoiled by both her parents and her grandparents. I also got a new camera lens that takes awesome portraits-I love it!

Christmas morning-not too shabby looking for being in our pajamas.

Other pictures from the week. Matthew and Ethan were good to Summer. Matthew especially enjoyed playing with her. (I didn't get any pictures of him with her though)

New years eve was David's 40th birthday, so we had a party for that. Dad took us all to Tucanos for a late lunch, we then had an ice cream party, and played games for the evening. It was a great trip and we were sad to head home. On the drive back we did see about 20 big horn sheep in two different groups standing on the freeway. which was kinda exciting.

  1. Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas! And you got so many good pics; I'm impressed. How fun that you got a new camera lens! Our family must've gotten the same cold yours did, at about the same time. Glad you're all well and made the trip safely.
