Summer Christine Lyman

Summer Christine Lyman was born August 17th (yes, I know it's been a month ago) at 10:56 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. Everything went well and we are thrilled to have her.

An hour or two old.

First family photo.

My mom came out to help us for a week. We were sure glad to have her here, it made our transition into parenthood a little easier. Thanks Mom!

First bath at home-she didn't like it. She still doesn't like them much, but occasionally she will tolerate one fairly well.

A few (okay, a lot-the rest of this is really for the Grandparents and anyone else who thinks she's as adorable as we do) random favorites:

Going for a ride in her front carrier.

One month old in her car seat. I took this picture to show how little she is in it. I wish I would have taken one when she was first born. She was so tiny in it then. She likes to ride in it and we are glad for that. She did get carsick several times. I realized that it only started after I had put a cover on the carseat. After we took it off, no more carsickness (Thank goodness!)

This picture is an attempt to show her long hair that always sticks up in the back. She posed very nicely for the picture.

Last one: This was taken today-officially one month old. She wasn't very happy with me for taking this one. I put her next to a teddy bear with the thought that I may take her picture with it each month to show how much bigger she has gotten in comparison. I have seen a lot of people do this and it's kinda cool. We'll see if I actually do it. I figured that I better get a picture today, just in case.

We are adjusting fairly well as new parents. She eats really well and sleeps really well at night once we get her in bed. I have to wake her up most nights so she will eat. She's too little to sleep through the night without eating, although she would gladly do on a fairly regular basis. The pediatrician tells me I need to continue to wake her up until she hits about 10-11 lbs and 2 months old. I'm hoping she will continue her habit of wanting to sleep through the night, so when she can, she does. She has changed our lives and we love having her!

  2. I love her! She just keeps getting cuter. Is Anders really asleep in that picture, or does he always smile like that in his sleep?
