Spring is Here

Spring is here...and so are the house projects. Anders and I spent most of yesterday working on a couple of things for the yard. The first was the planting of a new tree (pictured below). It looks like a skinny little twig right now, but some day it will produce nice juicy peaches for us to enjoy. I am so excited for that!

Project number two involved some re-landscaping. Right next to our stairs that lead to the front door, we had an area that produced plentiful amounts of weeds last year. I was determined that this year that would not be the case. After closer examination of the area, we determined that the dryer vent from our laundry came out right above it, making it a much harder area to grow things in. We decided to just put in some ground cover and I'll put in some pots with flowers on it later. We also lined another section next to a big stump with some of the big rocks we had in an attempt to keep everything from washing into the driveway. Here are a few before and after pictures of our project:

After: Not perfect, but much better than it was before. I guess you could also say the red rocks don't totally match, but we like them, so I guess that's all that really matters.
