Anders the fix-it-man
The last several months we have had our share of dishwasher drama. Starting in mid-October we had a fix-it man come take a look at our dishwasher. (It was covered by our home warranty that we got from our realtor when we bought our house). Needless to say, after 5 trips to our house by repair men and a back order of our new dishwasher, a functioning dishwasher became a part of our household only two weeks ago. This is what our kitchen looked like during Christmas break.

Thanks to the abilities of my husband, it now looks like this. :) Much better. Anders ended up switching the placement of a set of drawers and the dishwasher (they used to be in opposite spots). We decided to do that because with the dishwasher in its original place, we could not stand at the sink and load the dishwasher at the same time. I also couldn't get into our dishes cabinet with the dishwasher open. Who came up with that kitchen plan? It is now much easier to load and unload our dishwasher (and its great to have one too!). Thanks Anders!

Anders' other kitchen project was this little shelf area. Our cabinets originally just had some dead space there. There was no bottom to the cabinet, just a piece of cabinetry wood covering the space. Anders pulled off the cover, created a couple of shelves, and now we have a great place to put cookie sheets and cutting boards. It gives us a little extra room in our kitchen for storage. Thanks again Anders!

Beautiful! I didn't know Anders had turned so handy; way to go! By the way, I love the egg picture in your previous post--pretty amazing!
