Moosen!
Friday Anders and I went up to Cascade Springs. It is a beautiful location and was fun to walk around. It is an area of cascading pools made from a natural spring (hence the name Cascade Springs-very creative) that has been surrounding by walkways and boardwalks. As we reached the far end of the pools we ran into this guy:
He was only about 10 meters away from us and enjoying his dinner. He wasn't very big (for a moose that is) and you can see his little antlers.
He stood up for us to eat some of the leaves off the bush and then my camera battery promptly died right after taking this photo. I tried to change it quickly, but he wandered off before I could get any others. This was only my third time seeing a moose (one of which was really far away and we could barely tell that it was a moose) and I was really excited about it.
After our moose encounter we enjoyed walking around some more and here are a few more pictures:

Farmer Anders.

Although we feel bad that somebody etched this into a hand rail, we felt pretty special that they would think of us and our wedding year when they were at Cascade Springs. (I promise it wasn't us-we just found it.)
On our drive home imagine my joy when we found this girl crossing the road. These pictures were taken while sitting in the car, so they aren't the greatest. I couldn't believe it-2 "moosen" in one day! I doubled the number of times I had seen a moose in my entire life in just over an hour. Pretty cool!

Very cool! I haven't seen many moose in my life either--and never two in one day. I like the "Farmer Anders" picture: that's quite the long piece of grass. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I was also going to rave about those water pics. They're gorgeous! And how ironic about the carving in the rail.
ReplyDeleteMoosen! What a funny title. Brian Regan? Hee, hee.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Farmer Anders totally cracks me up. Thanks for posting!
