Spring Break in CO
Last Saturday my older sister Melissa, her five children, and I took a road trip to Colorado for spring break. We have had a lot of adventures this week and the kids have enjoyed spending time with "Grandma and Grandpa" and their cousins. My brother Mike lives in CO with his family, so we have spent a lot of time with them as well. It is nice to come see my parents and get the bonus of seeing Mike and Tamara as well. They recently had their second baby and it was fun to see him for the first time as well. I have enjoyed spending time with them, but I am so excited to go home to Anders. Amazing how long a week can be....
Here are a few snippets of the fun things we have done all week!
The little girls swimming in the greenhouse. I did this often as a child-the perfect place to swim on a chilly day. They were lucky though-Janae and I hauled hot water in buckets from the bathroom for them.

We made Easter cookies and also entered a competition at the Library with our "Old McDonald's Farm." We didn't win, although we all thought we should. Tamara, Janae, and I had a lot of fun making it.
We also did an Easter Egg Hunt for the little kids. This is Lyla telling me she found one more.
Eily enjoying the Easter Egg Hunt.
I also made a stop by my high school to see my track record that finally got posted. Thanks to my dad, he made sure that it made it up-it only took 10 years for the high school to do it. It brought back a lot of memories and was fun to see. We set the school record for the 4x200 meter relay my junior year. It was a very good time and it will be fun to see how long it lasts.
One of the days we spent at the Zoo. Here are a few pictures from the day.
Holding Mike and Tamara's baby, Caleb.
The bears were a lot of fun. We spent probably a half hour watching them. One of the bears was showing off for the crowd and kept looking at us through the glass, splashing water, and just playing with us. I have always loved bears for some reason, and loved watching them. I could have sat there all day.

The giraffes are one of my favorites at the zoo. The enclosure they are in is set up so you can feed the giraffes. They have long tongues and will come right up to you looking for food. They are so much fun and very entertaining.
My favorite picture of the trip!

Good times! Thanks for coming with us!
ReplyDeleteMemories of the Past - It wasn't that long ago, was it? It seems like just yesterday our little girls were hunting for eggs at Ann's house. Fun Photo's!
