Goodbye July

Goodbye, July! I'd like to say I'll be sorry to see you go, but that wouldn't be entirely true. I will be sad that some of you is done and over, but some of you I will not be sad to miss.  Here is a list of July's activities so I don't forget-basically in chronological order:

Pre-July: We helped move my grandma into a new place the very end of June and into the beginning of July. We're glad to have her close by.
1. We celebrated the 4th of July. We spent part of the day with my family and then watched the fireworks at Thanksgiving Point from the street corner while Summer slept in her own bed.
2. We had fraud on my debit card.
3. Anders threw a bachelor party for his brother-which consisted of pizza, ice cream, games, and a movie.
4. I threw a baby shower for Anders' cousin the day after the bachelor party, and didn't know if she would actually make it in time due to flight changes. I found out at midnight the night before (it was at 11 am) that it was a for sure yes.
5. I made apricot fruit leather thanks to our neighbors abundant supply of apricots. If we hadn't been leaving town I would have made a few more batches.
6. Our large freezer (which is only 1 1/2 years old) broke the day of the baby shower. Luckily we caught it soon enough that we didn't lose too much food.
7. My cell phone ended up in the toilet. After some time in rice, it began working. A small miracle after the weekend we had just had.
8. We spent a week in Colorado at an awesome Griggs family reunion. We ate lots of food, got very little sleep, and had a great time.
9. Came back from Colorado to dead flowers and a vegetable garden pillaged by the neighbors chickens. We're still at war with the chickens-lets just say we keep water guns by the back door.
10. We had some good family friends whose son committed suicide. I used to babysit for them and have always admired their whole family. The funeral was in Colorado, so we were unable to go, but I've thought a lot about the whole situation. It really is a tragedy and my heart goes out to the family.
11. We celebrated Anders' birthday! Happy Birthday to my awesome husband!
12. We set up and decorated for a wedding luncheon.
13. Anders brother got married and we did all the fun wedding stuff-sealing, luncheon, reception, pictures, you know, all of it. Congratulations Isaac and Dylan!
14. I went to see "Wicked" in Salt Lake with Nisha. It was totally awesome!
15. Anders had a cousin get married. Congratulations Andy and Natalie!
16. I've been planning girls camp all throughout the month. It has included shopping for all the craft supplies, comparing prices, meetings, emails, activities, and more shopping.
17. Temperatures in the mid to high 90's almost all month have made this pregnant lady tired of summer time and made outside play during the day not happen much.

We're kicking off August with a week of me at girls camp. Pretty sure once that's over, I'll be looking forward to our life calming down a little bit. So, yay for all the good things in July! And yay for July being over!
