Things to Remember
Here are a few things that Summer has done lately that are funny or cute that I want to remember.
1. The other day Anders gave Summer a cookie, she took a bite, thought for a minute, and then said "yum yum!"
2. We went miniature golfing today and it is a hard concept for a one year old to understand. After being totally confused for awhile she decided on her own way of doing things. Anders would go first, she would then chase after his ball while I hit my ball. After one of us hit a ball in the hole, she'd drop her ball in the hole, and wait for the last ball to go in. Once they were all in, she would pull them all out and carefully hand the correct colored ball to the right person. I was impressed that she never gave the wrong ball to the wrong person.
3. Summer now has a funny way of cuddling. She'll shove her face right into yours and rub her face all over yours. It is pretty cute.
4. I made cookies the other day and Summer swiped a couple of them from the counter. I didn't even realize she could get to them and she was smart enough to do it when I wasn't looking, even though I was standing right there. She sure enjoyed them!
5. When we have gone on walks, Summer often will examine any bugs we see for a few minutes and then suddenly squish them. With no remorse, she quickly continues on with our walk.
6. We took Summer swimming for the first time in a while. She was petrified of the water and wouldn't go near it. Little by little I was able to get her to move closer to the water and eventually sit on the top step of the pool stairs. She wanted nothing to do with the rest of the pool, but quite enjoyed the top step.
7. Summer has mastered going down the slide by herself. When she reaches the bottom, she'll stand up, clap her hands, and say "yay!"
8. Summer is really good at copying whatever I am doing. She will help me empty the dishwasher, help me weed, and will "help" me do whatever I am doing.
9. Summer likes to have a napkin at dinner to wipe her hands and face off on. Then she likes to wipe her tray, and her food, and the table, and anything else she can get to.
10. Summer controls the music in the car these days. As we listen to the radio, she will quickly let us know through a series of quick "no's" that she doesn't like a song. We will often have to go through most of the stations to find something she is satisfied with. Apparently she likes rap and music that is slow, but beyond that, there is no pattern that I can see to what she likes. We often disagree on what makes music good. I'm guessing this a precursor to what is to come?

How funny! What a character. Thanks for these little snapshots into what she's like these days.
