Birthday Girl

For Summer's birthday we had a little party with our family. My brother and two sisters  (who all live close by) came with their families as well as Anders' sister Nisha. My parents also were in town that weekend, so they were here as well! What a treat!

Summer was spoiled with a spaghetti dinner, her very own little cake, and plenty of gifts. She didn't really get the gift thing (I didn't really think she would), but she had plenty of cousins to help her. When I asked Tyler to help Summer blow out her candle, he looked at me like I was crazy and replied with "You mean do it for her?" She had no idea what was going on, but I sure enjoyed it. :)

She was also very dainty with eating her cake. She enjoyed it, but didn't go crazy like some other kids do. She carefully licked her fingers as she went, leaned over once to lick the cake itself, and then just ate small pieces at a time as she continually studied it.  Really, it was all very much in character.

Here's a few (okay, several) pictures from the day. And oh, I made her a tutu. I think it's adorable. She didn't think so at first, but she warmed up to it pretty quick.

My first cake decorating experience in a long time. I think it turned out pretty cute!

This is how she looked at the cake the entire time we sang to her.

Lyla adores Summer and had the chance to play with just her after everyone else left. They had a great time and Lyla took good care of Summer.

  3. Happy birthday, Summer! Beautiful tutu and cake, Stephanie! And I love that expression when she was just looking at the cake! So funny.

Oh, and I keep forgetting to tell you that at least once every single day, Isaiah says, "Isaiah see Summer." He misses her and doesn't want me to forget it.
