Osborne Family Reunion
A couple of weeks ago we headed to Southern Utah for an Osborne Family (my Mom's family) reunion. We had three nights and two full days of food and fun. Enough food was brought to feed an army-we probably had enough food to last all of us (60 people) for two weeks. Needless to say, no one starved. Here are a few highlights from the reunion:
1. Minute-to-Win-it Games: These never get old in my mind, especially when there are grown men playing.
2. Birthday Party: Grandma turned 90 this last May, so we did a birthday party for her-complete with games, cake, and presents for all. Thanks for putting it together, Taeh!
3. Family Picture: We did a picture with all of us who were able to be there. Always an adventure-no major disasters though and everyone seemed to do quite well. Can't wait to see the final shots! Thanks, Jared!
4. Quilting: We tied (and by we, I mean I helped do a few knots and left most of the work to others) two blankets for Sarah, my cousin who just graduated from high school, and one for Jill, my other cousin who is about to have her first baby.
5. "Hike:" When we hike, we mean go on a short walk. We just went to the lake near by and let the kids play in the water for a while.
6. Lava Tubes: This was our real adventure for the trip. We went to some nearby lava tubes and had a grand time exploring the caves. We found some bats, including a nursery of baby bats. Apparently, all the baby bats get to hang out together while moms take turns taking care of them. When we were done, we were covered in dirt and smiles.
7. Rubbery Ducky Race: We each got a Rubber Ducky (thanks to my mom!) to race down the river. The winner is still up for debate due to some duck interference, but we all had a great time racing them.
8. Family History Night: We had a family history night all about my Grandpa. Different people dressed in some of his old clothes (BYU letter sweaters and marine uniform) told about different parts of his life.
9. Talent Show: Really, this was mostly an un-talent show. Highlights include Eily's hula dance, Sarah's epic poem, Tiffany's flute playing, and the Rex Osborne's family song. Anders and I treated everybody to a rendition of "Mary had a Little Lamb," played by blowing glass bottles.
10. Testimony Meeting: We always have a testimony meeting and it really is a highlight of the reunion. Everyone comes and no one is offended to have one. How blessed we are as a family.
Other activities not to be forgotten include rocket building, hair bow making, s'more eating, and campfire talking. We had a great time and can't wait for the next one in two years!
Minute to Win It Games:
Grandma working on a quilt
Grandma, Lyla, Heather, Caleb, and Daniel in the front.
Birthday Party:
Summer enjoying some of Daddy's chocolate
Rex directing the candy bar name game.
Ben and David competing for a candy bar.
Sarah, Ethan, Daniel, and Janae thinking hard...very hard...
Ethan, Me, and Matthew on our way to "hike." Anders and Summer were taking a nap. :)

Cute one of Tiffany.

Sarah and Spencer
Caleb has an awesome follow-through.
Spencer (who is one month older than Summer) gives out smiles like there is no tomorrow. One look at him and he'll give you a big grin. It's pretty cute!
Four of the Griggs' kids.
Lyla showing off her rubber duck. This was the best smile I could get out of her...
The race begins. This picture turned out pretty cool-the only thing in focus are the ducks. They are crystal clear, while the rest is not. Go me and my photography skills (or luck...).
Whose the winner?
Helping the ducks along.
Summer elected to just hold on to hers for chewing.
