Summer's Blessing

Summer was blessed on Sunday, October 14th. We had a lot of family come for the occasion. My parents and Tamara (with her kids) came out from Colorado for it and Melissa came up with her family from Spanish Fork. From Anders' side of the family we had Nisha, Grandma Lyman, Matt and family, Jed and family, Reed and Kathryn, Gary & Julie, and Liz and James. We also had several friends come-Wyatt and Marilyn, Jacob and Julie, Trent, Paige, and Mike. We appreciate all the support and love you all!

I also spent some time taking Summer's picture the day after in her dress. Several months ago Anders and I got a new camera and I have yet to learn how to use it. Summer was relatively happy on Monday, so I decided it was a good opportunity to give my photography skills some work. Out of the 250 pictures I took, a handful turned out pretty good. I learned a few things and have a better idea of how to use my camera now. I am sure it will always be a work in progress.

Thanks to Mom for the lovely dress she made for Summer. I had several people comment on how beautiful it was and I think it was absolutely perfect. Thanks Mom!

  1. She is so adorable! I want to hold her again so bad. I hope it won't be too long before I can see her again--and the rest of my family can meet her. Great job with your camera, by the way. It's certainly a sharp learning curve, isn't it? That's what I'm going through, too, as I learn to use my new camera. How did you get the black background?

  2. Thanks Katrina-there is a lot to learn. I'm glad you guys got a new camera. The black background is actually a navy blue fleece blanket we got for our wedding. I draped it over the couch and some chairs-it worked better than I thought it would.
