Little Lady Lyman's Room

So in preparation for the arrival of Little Lady Lyman (isn't that a cute nickname that a friend of mine came up with?) we have been doing all sorts of things. I have been reading my "how to take care of a baby" books, we took a "how to have a baby class" at the hospital (so that's not the real name of the class, but it's what Anders and I called it), and we have scoured garage sales for good deals for baby items.  One of the most fun things for me has been decorating the baby's bedroom. Anders really could care less about what I do in there, but he is gracious enough to come take a look each day as I have made additions or changes and say what a wonderful job I have done. I love my husband! :)

Anyway, today I finally completed my project today due to the fact that Hobby Lobby was having a half off sale on certain items. Anyway, here are a few pictures of the room. Some of it is a little random and not quite what some would call cohesive, but I like it.

You can see the cute bed set my Mom found for us in Colorado Springs. Also, the rocking chair was a fabulous KSL purchase. I love KSL! (Except for when it comes to dressers...it failed us in the search for a dresser, so the dresser is from Ikea).
Thanks to Anders' parents for the crib!
These pictures are thanks to the inspiration of Pinterest. I bought the frames at Ikea for $2 each and the rest I had at home. I did a google search for silhouettes of flowers and butterflies, printed out the ones I liked, traced them onto scrapbook paper, and then cut them out. I think they turned out pretty cute!
The white shelf and teddy bear figurines were mine growing up and I thought they would be a great addition. Also, the canvas prints were my purchase from Hobby Lobby.
This Salt Lake Temple picture (I know it's hard to tell, but that's what it is) was also in my room growing up.

The room's not perfect (don't look too closely at the paint job or the way the pictures were hung), but I like it. 10 days until the due date, Little Lady Lyman, we are ready for your arrival (or as ready as new parents can be....)!

  1. I think it's cute! I love the nickname too, although it did take me a while to read it right (it's quite the tongue twister).
